A short time ago, I began writing a post about a musician. For inspiration, I asked musician friends about their love for music.
This was my exact question:
"Do you remember the moment that you knew, really knew in your heart of hearts, that you LOVED music? That music had you by the balls. That you seemed to listen to music differently from other people. That you wanted to actually BE a musician."
The reactions I got were amazing.
So amazing in fact, that I have to share them here.
I'm calling it the Swagger Arts Series. It's a glimpse into the hearts and minds of the inspiring musicians I've jammed with over the years. Their stories are touching, insightful, and often funny.
I hope you enjoy it.
Here's a sample of the tidbits I got:
1. One of the most influential bands of my generation? Believe it or not - KISS. (I loved them too y'all)
2. Music is a family affair. It gets passed down from mothers, fathers, older brothers and sisters, neighbors, aunts, and uncles. The grand oral tradition alive and well in our Twitter world.
3. For those of you in Holland - we owe a lot to Ad Visser and TopPop.
Thanks to all of you that contributed.
Stay tuned. More to come!

Ad Visser was the shit back then and should've made president of Holland. I wonder what went wrong.
